About the Book

Lucy is not an ordinary bear. She is a sun bear with a talent unusually rare. Her head sparkles when ideas appear.

One day, Lucy has a brilliant idea to invent a flying machine named Marvel. Together, they embark on a fantastic adventure flying over the rainforest. Their first stop is Crazy Ear Town, where hungry Crazy Ear Giants live and not a single tree is found.

When the land turns green once again, Lucy meets a crew of animals, including an orangutan, a pygmy elephant, a gigantic prawn and a colugo. With her new animal friends by her side, Lucy sets out on her biggest adventure yet, searching for a family of pangolins kidnapped by red-hatted crooks.

Join Lucy on her fantastic flying adventure as she introduces children to endangered forests and animals through whimsical rhymes, while also touching their hearts with this important lesson: We always protect our friends and homes, and we must do the same for animals.

'Lucy’s Fantastic Flying Adventure by Pauline Chan is a book with pages of colorful illustrations that will capture the youngest child’s imagination. With its fun and unique animals, the story will grab their attention and keep them asking for another read.'

About the Author
AuthorName (3).png

Pauline Chan is a writer and editor. As a resident of Brunei Darussalam for over thirty years, she worked for two lifestyle magazines. She once wrote an article about a sun bear conservation centre in Sabah, a Malaysian state on the island of Borneo.

Learning about captive sun bears and the threats they face inspired Pauline to write Lucy’s Fantastic Flying Adventure. Her book is also inspired by her children, as it showcases that they, too, can always follow their creative passions.

Pauline lives with her husband in the city of Bandar Seri Begawan in Brunei Darussalam, known as the Abode of Peace, and it is truly so.
